Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Best time to book a march ski holiday from the UK?

Morning.

For the past few years my wife and I have skied in the French alps.

For a change we though we would try Andorra. (Mainly down to another thread on here)

Just looking at the price of a ski holiday and compared to france it looks cheap.

My question is. Should I book it now, or wait till February when we might be able to get a last minute deal to the area.

(We normally book a few weeks before we go away )

I am very confused.

Assume we are talking booking with at TO?

I always figured for less busy weeks if you don't care where you go then book as close to as you can

That said I have often seen stuff to Andorra going last minute

to get the best late deals you could wait just a few days before departure, rather than weeks. And then you also know what snow conditions are like.

just be aware that in France the first week of March will still be school hols. Not a manic busy week, but still better to wait till mid-month for quieter slopes (and longer days... snowHead )

If you are going to leave it late, then I would not settle on any given resort, rather I would call some of the main operators direct, and see what they have available in resorts with good snow. If you are flexible, and don't mind hoping on ski-busses rather than being right by the lifts, then you will always be able to find something.

I am a nightmare.

Every year I think

"This year I will wait for the day before departure before booking"

I think this is the earliest I have ever booked anything.

Barr my wedding to mrs K that is

@kiteman69, You certainly will get some very good deals by booking early — the low hanging fruit of the best hotels etc., will be available.

I've just booked my ski holiday in St. Anton in early March 2016 I found a little "Haus" literally at the bottom of the slopes, ski in and out, for under £360 UKP per person per week breakfast included, and that for a double room, with en-suite and a balcony over-looking the mountain!

FWIW early March is statistically a great time to visit Andorra! Can't comment on the tour operator situation, though. If you're fussy about the accommodation I guess you have to book early; but if you're less so then I suspect there'll be plenty available. Peak season has been and gone by that time.
