Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Costco Softshell Jackets

I was in my local Costco last week and noticed they had a new range of softshells in different colourways. According to the labels they are Water Resistant and Windproof with 3 layers - protective fabric shell, breathable middle layer, brushed fleece interior. The quality looks to be very good which is what I'd expect from Costco. At about £18 it was a steal so bought one. A bit of googling brings up a lot of positive comments about them from US Costco customers. A few liken it to The North Face softshells. So far I'm impressed. It feels good on and the quality seems to be good with YKK zips and rubber pulls.

I was about to buy an Arcteryx MX Hoody but I've put that on hold and will see how I get on with this.

I've got one. It's survived learning to board in MK (not real snow obviously but you do get wet and cold) and it did very well. A couple of damp bum patches but could equally be a lack of some kind of snow specific features like a skirt...

It has also survived a round of golf where it started raining and daily dog walks. I certainly don't suffer from boil in the bag in it which is nice.

Downside I found it quite rigid and not as flexible as a regatta one I have and I find the pockets a bit far round the side (proper first world problem) but can't fault for £18. OH also has one. I got the men's style only for the women's cut option to appear in our local a week later so might get another.
