Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi all, does anyone have one??

Ive tried one on, great fit, I like the look, but was wondering if anyone here has one and if so how you find it? do you have any hot head syndrome etc?

Cheers in advance

I wanted one, but due to the bizarre POC sizing on this model, it did not fit. The largest size is the L-XL, which is only 60cm, which is M-L for most manufacturers. The MIPS insert further reduces the size.

Don't forget that the helmet is non-adjustable, there are pads, but no retention system, so no quick adjustment for a helmet liner for example. This helmet is also sold as a bike helmet, so the airflow/cooling must be pretty good.

I ended up with the POC Fornix Backcountry MIPS, as it was the only MIPS helmet I could find that fitted. On this model the XXL goes up to 62cm, and has an adjustable retention system. I find the cooling fine, but this model has adjustable venting, which the Receptor Backcountry does not.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've always been a sufferer of HHS. I leaked like a sieve in my first two helmets, bought a POC Skull lite and FOOM! problem gone. They look like they'd have rubbish venting, almost no holes, but because the air is channeled through the helmet and out the back, all the hot sweatiness is blown through the back. Never too hot, never too cold. Goldilocks.

Thats exactly what I want to hear! Happy

I currently have a Ruroc, which I LOVE (sod off anyone who says otherwise hehe), great for on piste, fantastic vision and the face piece keeps me warm and dry in blizzards and at speed. Only problem is found was when off piste you work harder, ski a little slower and on those walks, its like being in a steam room Happy - The only way not to sweat so much and steam up is to faf around removing the face piece.
