Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

"Don't write your social security number on your skis" - Vermont State Police

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Police in the US state of Vermont are investigating a wave of stolen skis and snowboards at several resorts.

This report from Times Argus.

The police advice?

"Most of the equipment stolen if recovered will end up at state auction if the owner cannot be located because of lack of identification."
"If there is no ID number on their equipment, owners should place their own. In order to prevent identity theft, police said owners should not use social security numbers or names with dates of birth."

Maybe favourite lottery numbers would be a good idea! Any other suggestions?

David Goldsmith, Since all skis and boards have serial numbers, why don't the idiot owners write them down (apologies to idiot snowheads Embarassed ) and keep them to give to the fuzz when their kit is stolen. Not much use if their stuff is shipped miles away, but surely most nicked kit stays pretty close to where it was lifted . . . opportunism and all that.

Post code is always one to start with, and a record of the serial number helps.

Your Excellency, I'm considering writing my Swiss bank account number on my skis as I keep forgetting it - would this be a good idea?

David Goldsmith, If you put that on one ski, and your online account password on the other you could easily tell your left and right skis apart.
