Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Excellent - makes that other bike race at Ad'H look almost tame!

@davidof, mad video thanks for sharing. As regards the route, I haven't been to adh for a while, is it starting off on the sarenne and then cutting right back towards resort? I thought that was it but then the section in the forest started and the only place I could remember trees was in the sarenne gorge (where I can remember we saw a black squirrel on a summer walk once).

You don't think I've actually ridden it do you?

They ride all the way to the valley, that's where the trees come in. Here is one of the routes used

It is such an amazing event, I've done it twice and really want to do it again but it takes its toll on rider and bike and therefore bank balance!

One of the things that does make it so special is that because it does descend from the Pic Blanc all the way down to Allemont (with one climb over the ridge to Oz 1350) the course starts with snow followed by ice, jagged rocks, smoother rocks and pasture and then finally trees.

I need to go back to AdH on a board just to go down the same runs that I've raced down on a bike. I tried to make the day trip from L2A a couple of years ago but the road was closed.
