Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

You could perhaps try the Hotel Rubin in Soell. It is a smallish (about 50 bed i think) hotel above a bar, all owned by the same people. The bar is split into 3 areas - a "sports bar" (smoking permitted), a normal bar which has a dance floor and disco after about 10, and an irish bar that opens about 9pm. There is live music 3 nights a week and they do food until quite late, although the hotel is in the same building so you might as well eat there. (Its not "posh", I think its advertised as 3*). The "normal" bar trades as the Red Horse pub, I can't remember what they call the irish bar.

We use the normal bar quite a bit for our pre-dinner apres, but haven't stayed with them for a few years. That said, for a couple of seasons it was being advertised as "Crystal exclusive" so you may not be able to book direct with them. They do not allow under 16's as hotel guests.

@Markymark29, you may be interested to know that I have booked to stay in Willi's Pillstuble in Stuben am Arlberg as this seems to fit the criteria perfectly. Thanks very much for the suggestion.

markymark29 yes my favourite ski resort is Lech and I have of course been to St Anton so I know what a great area it is. I am going in January.
