Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Transfer to Oz en Oisans

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi Guys,
New to this forum, but in desperate need of advice, I'm with a party of 12 booked at a lodge in Oz in early March except we haven't got any transfer organised from Grenoble airport, I've got a couple if quotes but the seem rather pricey. Has anyone out there got sny suggestions on who I should be contacting to sort out transfer?

Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks

Bailos, you could find that it would be cheaper to hire a couple of people movers, we had some guests who flew into Grenoble who hired a Renault Espace and Scenic MPV for a week for less than the cost of transfers for 12.

Bailos, Good advice from David@traxvax, but also check out the regular buses to Grenoble centre. You can get buses from there to Boug d'Oisans or Allemont and then taxi to Oz. However, I should think hiring would be cheaper.

Also - it`s a quickish & easy drive to Oz. About 1 1/2 hours. Good roads. Avoid Europcar (at least if flying Easyjet). We went to Oz in December. The fight from Luton was a good deal quicker than the queue for the hire car (I`m not exaggerating).

Alternatively, I think there`s a bus service between Grenoble and Rochetaille or Allemont (0820 833 833). There may be a shuttle from Allemont to Oz direct (04 76 80 78 01). Otherwise - taxis. I read somewhere that there is a direct shuttle link between Grenoble and Oz on Saturdays during the winter season. Might be worth checking.

Hi,

There is a direct shuttle from Grenoble (main bus station I think) to Oz on Saturdays - you can find the details under access on the Oz website. I think it's about 5 euros. Only trouble is that it doesn't connect well with budget airline timetables or we'd be using it when our group of 16 hit Oz on the 4th March. Car hire is our option, it might be your best one too. beetle, Thanks for the tip re Europcar we'll avoid them then!
