Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A town of dinosaurs ... and a rusting ski lift (which has been sold)

Never heard of Drumheller?

Neither had I! This report on dinosaurs who don't ski but have inspired "world's greatest dinosaur museum", not far from Calgary, in a valley which comprises "the greatest treasure trove of palaeontological riches anywhere in the world". This report by Tom Holland for the BBC's 'From Our Own Correspondent' ...

The "rusting ski lift" (a chairlift) has been sold to the greatly named Big Bam Ski Hill in British Columbia ... [and we can thank Drumheller Mail for that information!]

Been there. The museum is fantastic, seriously the Albertan badlands pretty much have the best dinosaur fossils in the world. Dinosaur Provincial park also a good one. We saw a whole centausaurus bone bed there last year.

Nearly posted under naffest tourist attraction post, as there is also a giant T rex that you can climb up all the stairs inside and then look through the mouth and teeth!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Most skiers visiting Calgary probably end up much closer to the Burgess Shale, which is hugely more significant.

More generally the Dinosaur National Park in Utah/Colorado is pretty cool, but for "animatronics" Disneyland is likely vastly superior, although I don't expect to have to visit until after I'm dead.
