Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

hey guys a newbie here I've just had my first experience snowboarding on real snow in les carroz france.. big issues that i could do with some help with.. here we go.. i hired a board and boots and binding and set of up the mountain once at the top i realised the board was set up goofy and i needed regular but i assumed it would be ok to ride the board backwards of which i struggled but managed to spend 6 hours out on the slopes.. that evening i returned the shop to change stance to reg and he also gave me duck feet stance of which i found ok on the practice slopes and landed 180s strait away .. my question is next time i go away do i get my board set up left foot forward or the duck feet stance as i want to just ride the slopes and learn a few grab tricks which setup suits that style ride? sorry its this is a big bore lol

Stick with the duck stance, about -15 / 15 degrees
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Also, it's not difficult to alter the set up and there are often tools at the bottom of lifts. Then you can experiment a bit.
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

The angles are determind by your body mechanics, and bend of knee , everyone is different , when strapped in naturally push your knee forward, it should be over your foot , not to the left or right, other wise this causes both foot pain and leg pain .
My mechanics mean I ride 23....18 ..... some reccon it cant be right, but I can ride a lot better than most ppl who comment about it, and am pain free
