Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Any reccommendations for a cheap hotel for a 4 night stay? Also Serfaus or Fiss. What's night life like. Usual questions. Bunch of 50 something blokes, like lots of beer, Solden's titty bars not really for us well apart from one of us) Smile

been a while since I was there but I would say Serfaus for sure. long village but really easy to tarvel with underground train from end to end. if you like your beer and are not rich then we found the nearer you go towards the gondola , the more expensive the beer got in the different bars. From 3.50 to nearly 6 EUR.
great sking in Serfaus and its at a good height so snow will be good most of the time. did a lot of resesrch at the time for accommodation and remember finding all the hotels very expensive so we booked a really nice apartment which we could ski back to the door to when there was snow in the town

@Ghost Dog, Pretty much zero night life in Fiss - and also zero groups of 50 something blokes. 'Ski Dimension' is the polar opposite of Ischgl and Solden in those respects.

Great ski area - but you may struggle to 4 night hotel acomodation over a weekend as the whole area seems set up for week-long stays for well-to-do German familys

I agree. There seems to be a bit of a misfit between the group profile and the resort. Great resort but not convinced it will tick your boxes.
Ischgl would be far better and doesn't have to be expensive.

Bob, the bar at 4 min into this looks like our kind of place, the kind you can find in any Austrian resort.
