Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Daily Telegraph motoring writer mocks French snowchain laws and British motorists ... in this article.

Putting oneself into the mindset of a Telegraph reader, it's moderately amusing.

James May has been spending too much time with Clarkson. Prats who neglect to take snowchains should have their car crushed.

Frosty the Snowman, Snow chains OR winter tyres is the actual requirement I believe.

Yep. Romandie only. Since Bern is an hour and a half from us and Geneva almost 3 hours, I think the petrol costs make our local 100m down the road cheaper even if it is 35 squid a throw! But thanks anyway, appreciated

Thank you all for the advice.
Pirelli finally admitted that they only manafacture Winter tyres in June! and once they are all sold that's that until next June.
Jaguar Coventry could not help and blamed Pirelli but did concede (in writing ) that I could put any tyre's 'fit for purpose' on the car without affecting the Warranty.
So after many calls and e-mails. Micheldever tyres www.micheldever.co.uk Came up with Vredsteins that were available and acceptable to Jaguar. But they are a whopping £40.00 each more expensive than the Pirelli's.
Now fitted to the car the extra grip on wet/greasy roads is readily noticeable and makes little difference to noise or handling.
Having had a good look at what are now my 'summer tyres' I can easily see the difference and the reason why they were 'interesting' on snow and ice.
If you are in the South and looking for tyres Micheldever is to be reccomended.

Driving back today there was once again a Gendarme and his speed gun at marker point 38.6 just before the Calais Peage and at the Peage 2 GB cars pulled over for speeding!

Four times since Christmas there has been a Radar check at 38.6 remember 130 kph is the speed limit. Very Happy
