Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Menuires and 3 V or Cervinia for best snow

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Got a week planned 21st March but can't decide whether to plump for 3v staying in Menuires or go to Cervinia - as want the best possible snow, and preferably avoid skiing in puddles.
Did a week at the end of Jan in Arcs 2000 and the snow was epic.
Any thoughts or suggestions greatly received.

well, both pretty high (Cervinia a bit higher.), but Cervinia has the highest ski point of the two. My choice would be Cervinia..

Obviously, coverage varies season by season but Cervinia has a great snow record last few years. Haven't been to Cervinia for a few months but tonnes of snow reported there at the moment.

@Mandal, I was in Cervinia for half term. Totally dumped with snow. Lots of powder and no queues.....they were all in Zermatt! It's still been snowing there this week. I am total saddo & have been checking. On plus side you're going lower season so I reckon Zermatt skiing will be great too. I'm def planning on going back at some point, plus the people themselves were loads friendlier than the French. We had a great time. I'm already looking into Italy again for a short break the end of this month!

@malarkey99, that makes two of us. Cervinia should still have good skiing in April at this rate.

Don't know about the others but Cervinia has had good snow this year - better than us just over the ridge in Zermatt. 21 March should still be fine but as it is South facing spring skiing can get soft even though it is high.

It is natural to assume Cervinia faces South but the borders are actually very convoluted. The think the slopes at Cervinia face west and hence have similar aspect as Sunnega and other west facing slopes in Zermatt.
