We are planning a trip to St Anton from Hong Kong at Chinese New Year 2016. The dates would be 3rd to 9th Feb. How busy is it likely to be? Are half term dates known yet?
Thanks

That is not the UK half term - I am not sure about other European countries and their holidays.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I doubt if UK half-term is a big consideration for St Anton, except if you're trying to book flights out of the UK. St Anton is not the sort of resort that attracts families with small children in huge numbers.
But...those dates do coincide with Fasching/Karneval/Mardi Gras which falls on the 9th Mar 2016 and is a popular ski time for many Germans, Austrians & some Netherlanders who form the bulk of guests in the Arlberg.
At a guess it will be busy...esp if the snow/weather is behaving.

@Samerberg Sue, Hello Do you know the exact date of Fasching in St Anton 2016. Is it the week commencing 06/02/2016? Thank you.

@mugen, indeed. I'm also in St Anotn at the moment and it's brilliant, nice quiet pistes, no queues what so ever for the lifts and some lovely weather. Couldn't ask for anything more at this time of year (except maybe Happy Valley being open which would make my decision as to whether to try and enter the Weisse Rausch much easier).

You know it makes sense.

St Anton is always busy in Jan and Feb - it is quite the party resort. If you are after a family holiday I would say there are lots of other places which are a lot better!

although a party resort, I thought ischgl is better than SA for family. we stayed in Galtur and skied Ischgl so had best of both.
also Ischgl looks to be more set up for kids than SA from what I've seen
