Poster: A snowHead

Has anyone stayed in these self catering apartments before. 3 blokes in a 4 bed studio which by all accounts is cramped for 1 but hey ho we're all mates.I know they are cheap and I have low expectations as I did read the online reviews but has anyone got any advice / tips for staying there? I'm interested to know how you get from the drop off point to the reception, is the wifi as rubbish as everyone says, is there any point trying to cook, where is the nearest supermarket, best place for breakfast, best bars / restaurants, nearest ski hire. Do they let you store your luggage after an early check out so you can ski the rest of departure day? So many questions......cheers guys.

Just returned from Avoriaz after a long weekend. We bookes Saskia, but that's the main building and we were placed in Malinka nearby. Yes it's cramped- 3 blokes can get by. Just! Only a hob and micro for cooking, but it was spotless and recently done out. Loads of Skiset shops there, all with different shop names. We used 'Ski Fun', excellent service. Checkout was 12, so we dinn't need to ask, so not sure on that one. Le Fontaines Blanche was good, 85 euro for 2 inc a 35 euro bottle of wine. Didn't have time for wifi. Take a 1 metre, 4 gang extension lead for all your chargers! Not enough sockets there. Snow was good.

Very. You get dropped off about 100-150m from reception in the Saskia building. You can hump the stuff, or bag a sledge for a euro and drag that- they are all over the shop, chained up like supermarket trolleys. Plenty of bakery type shops for beakfast bread, and a small supermarket 100m away, with a Carrefour a bit further over.
