Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Avoriaz Transfers

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I know this subject has been touched on once or twice but I have some specific questions that I haven't found answers to. Any guidance much appreciated:

1. First part of our group arrive at GVA on a Sunday morning at around 10.00 There are 5 of us in the group and I'm guessing a private transfer probably makes the most sense - (I think they are around 200 euro). Where do transfers typically drop you? In Avoriaz or at the bottom of the cable car? However we get to to the top is a long walk from the cable car/drop off point to the Kouria partments in the Falaise area?
2. One person arriving at GVA around lunchtime on Monday. Do shared transfers work OK and where do they typically drop you?
3. Two people arriving at GVA at around 20.30 on Monday. Probably too late for a shared transfer? Cable car shut by the time they arrive. How does it all work?
4. All 8 of us returning from Avoriaz to GVA on the following Sunday. I presume a private transfer is the way to go. We probably need to depart at 07.00 when i presume the cable car is still shut.

Any thoughts? Also any recommendations for transfer comapnies? Skiidy Gonzalez? MBC?

This is all based on Skiidy. My husband drives for them and I use them at least twice a month

1. They drop you up the top in the big arrivals area of Avoriaz if you ask them to or Prodains cable car (bottom) if that is better for your accommodation. A private will get you there quicker as no other stops - shared will be cheaper but you might lose some time dropping others off en route.
2. Shared transfers are great - drop wherever you ask
3. Not too late - Skiidy run all night.
4. Probably yes as you`ll fill a bus.

Skiidy are also very flexible with delayed flights etc unlike other companies that run a stricter timetable.

@foxtrotzulu, the last time I stayed in Falaise we just got dropped off at the big arrivals area in Avoriaz and it was a short walk. If you get the cable car up from Prodains you could always call the tourist office and get them to send a horse and sledge down for you.

Either way works Very Happy

I just wanted to tag along on this thread, I'm going to Avoriaz for the first time have booked a transfer with Skiidy. I'm also staying in the Falaise area in the Saskia apartments. Does anyone know this location? Is it a practical short walk from the drop off if you have a wheelie bag and board bag? Is it easy to get directions / find your way around? Is "Falaise" a large area? Cheers

@NellyNelly Saskia is a 2 minute walk from the drop-off point (less if you walk fast / have long legs).

Cool- I'll let my bag man deal with the luggage. Is there a bar at the bottom of the Saskia or did I imagine it when booking late on line?
