Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Handwarmers, where to pack...

I have some handwarmer "pads" as well as reusable gel type...

Does anyone have any knowledge / experience of whether these should be carried in the hold / cabin? I can see the airlines not keen on sachets of chemicals being bandied about, but I'm also keen on the gels splitting in the hold inside my bag...

Just was in Whistler, Canada and took a whole load for Brother's gf and had them in suit case. Heathrow Airport and Vancouver Airport and Air Canda did not mind.

Gel pads will not split. Well atleast the ones I took...
Chemical air warmed ones, also fine.

Actual heat of these are quite low in reality.

I took some of the teabag style ones in my hand luggage (I offered them up for inspection) at Luton once with no issues.

Thanks all, I didn't think it would be a massive issue (as there are no forums full of peeps with problems), just wanted to check Little Angel

some of the teabag ones are excellent - others a bit of a damp squib. I can't cope with the gel ones inside my gloves but always have teabags in my salopettes pocket, just in case. I was once able to give some to a very sad little sobbing French girl with freezing hands. warm hands for her, a warm self righteous glow for me, and all for less than the cost of a coffee!

Sportsdirect were doing the teabags ones for £0.50 and the gel ones for £1.50, so I don't mind about losing them, or giving them away.

I've used both before, although the best one I have is a little charcoal one that was my dad's, although that requires a little skill to get an even "burn"...
