Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

M20 Dover and Eurotunnel

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have just travelled the M20 between jct 8 to Dover and the road is passable, single lane traffic @ 30-40mph max.

Eurotunnel is ok-ish but the road over the Downs to Dover needs lots of care.

Travellers will need to factor in the slow progress but should get through with lots of caution.
The roads have gritters doing many passes and as along as there is not a ffreeze the roads should remain passable

But the bright side is that hopefully this weather is heading down to the alpes.

easiski, Variable, 4 inches on Romney Marsh according to my friend there, a light dusting further inland - some showers around groombridge/Tunbridge Wells, laid for a bit then melted at plus 1deg. About -2 now, with more snow forecast. Nothing to write home about really - much like any winter so far! All depends where you are I suppose - some pics on the news of East Anglia and Suffolk in particular looked quite well covered. No snow on Box at any rate!

easiski,

I doubt if you can ski on the downs ... the snow on the hills would be about 4 inches or so and therefore the grass would still show through and trip you up..... Dry ski slopes might be ok but I'm of on the 8th so I will wait..

By the amount of snow the south has got we would imagine its on its way to you... here's hoping anyway...!! Smile

Looked at Swiss webcams today and the sky is very grey.... just what I like to see on webcams....!!

The main roads are open and passable at reasonable speeds....gritters are still out and beware of black ice ...otherwise the channel routes are ok
