Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Top 6??
too many variables, but just on the basis of those which I would happily spend 3 or more days in again co's they were fun.

Well ok, I haven't skied them all but for me, RieterAlm / Hochwurzen (I lump these together), Zauchensee, Flachau, Badgastien, Haus.

I would put Obertauern in the list too, but its in a different ski pass region, so you would need to get the Salzburgeland super ski pass.

My favourites are in order of how many days a season I ski them are:

Wagrin/St Johann-Alpendorf, Radstadt-Altenmarkt (small but perfectly formed area), Forstau/Fageralm (again a small but fantastic little area with some great lift served off-piste), Schladming (all 4 mountains and Reiteralm because we go in via Reiteralm to Schladders), Zauchensee/Flachauwinkel, Maria Alm (actually the whole Hochköning area is fabulous but I just don't get there too often).

There are other great areas as well - the Gasteinertal, Großarl, Filzmoos all offer some interesting skiing as well. With the Super Salzburg Ski Pass you are quite literally spoilt for choice and will never manage to cover even a fraction of what's on offer in a week.

I rarely ski Flachau except from the Rote 8er side and the runs down from the Star Jets as the open area above the Achter Jet is just carnage in the main part of the season. I like it well enough in low season as long as the visibility is OK, it is pretty featureless in bad vis! Sadly its easy access from the motorway is the main reason it gets so crowded.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

6?...

I'm guessing one destination per ski day in a weeks holiday...??

@flangesax, which is exactly what we did when we stayed with you.

Couldn't fault any of it either. Our itinerary iirc...

Monday - Morning - Radstadt/Altenmarkt. Afternoon - Zauchensee (but not down to Flachauwinkl).
Tuesday - Flachau
Wednesday - Flachauwinkl/Zauchensee
Thursday - Schladders - Haus
Friday - Reiteralm/Hochwurzen
Saturday - Wagrain/Alpendorf

We didn't do Fageralm, I think it may have been shut.
