Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

ski testing at S&R / Hemel

Anyone done this?

I've never been to Hemel (or any indoor slope for that matter), is it possible to test multiple pairs of skis from Snow and Rock in a session there? S&R say they'll refund an hour's skiing if you buy a pair of skis, I assume you still need to book the hour's session in advance? Anything else I should know about these fridge thingies?

Sorry to sound like a numpty, but it's a bit of a drive to Hemel and I'm pushed for time at the moment so I don't want to do it unless I'm going to get some value out of it - other option is to buy the skis without testing based on reviews and opinions of Snowheads Shocked

Did it for my daughter at EB at MK who at the time had a better stock of the type of ski she was interested in. From memory S&R make a small charge EB don't. We didn't get any refund of the slope time but I think they'd just reduced the skis anyway.

She was testing advanced women's piste skis though which I guess you can get more of a feel for in a fridge than for fat off piste ones.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Make a list, then weigh up which Centre has the best choice in the right length for you.

I know which skis I want to test and they have them at Snow & Rock in Hemel, my concern is whether or not I'll get much value out of testing a few pairs for an hour on an indoor slope. I suspect the type of skis I'm after (wide and quite stiff) will be hard to test on a small slope because they're really designed for big turns and off piste.
