Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

For Veritex (or any leather) ski glove, get yourself a tube of this:

http://www.gooutdoors.co.uk/nikwax-wax-for-leather-100ml-p94790

Put your gloves on, put a healthy dollop on the palm of the glove and then just rub your hands together like you are washing them, working the cream into the gloves. Repeat as required.

My main issue is damp gloves from sweaty hands. Its rank, annoying and makes my gloves stink. No real solution to that though so I take a few pairs of gloves with me and change them during the week.

@Mike-H, lovely whiff you get when you put the gloves on the radiator too. Just add a couple of ski socks for the full experience.

@irie, Hold on a minute. I may sweat a tad on the mountain but I have never 'leaked' in the man veg department. Very Happy

@Mike-H, try putting a teabag into each glove overnight. Soaks up the moisture.

I love my Hestra gloves. So warm. Even look good stained with gluwein.

For sweaty hands, again, the pile lined gloves dry much quicker than those with standard insulation. Something to bear in mind.

Staying on the subject of sweaty hands. Would it help to wear silk glove liners and wash them each night or would liners make it worse?

Surely the answer to sweaty hands is to wear thinner gloves Puzzled

Much like the guy from Meribel, the lifties in the PdS wear sheepskin lined leather gloves (yellow rather than tan), I found them in the MACO DIY store in St Jean D'Aulps. They are EUR 14.5, which is about 11 quid. I bought some in December, I have used them all season so far, and they are excellent. I have been skiing since 1986, and these are probably the best and by far the cheapest gloves I have had.

I've got sweaty hands as they are almost always too hot. I take the liners out of my Hestras to dry every night.

Don't put leather gloves on a radiator. Anywhere in a warm room will get them dry overnight.
