Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

What are the best tissues to use for an on-piste drippy nose?

Do rather prefer the eucalyptus impregnated tissues but they smear my goggles when I clean them, even before using them!

In a bit of a quandary here, should I switch to unimpregnated tissues or is there some way I can continue using my eucalyptus favourites? Puzzled

@irie, is it beyond the wit of man to have tissues of each sort? why are you cleaning your goggles with a tissue anyway?

@irie, and his tears froze on his goggles, then he smeared them all over the place because he used an old j-cloth. Not even the lord is immune from these petty irritants.

@Dr John, nah, Jesus Wiped Tissues - Impregnated with holy water, they're strong enough for fathers and sons, yet soft enough for the holiest of ghosts.

@Dr John, I could use a J-cloth but I normally try to delegate that area of management to my wife. Are you suggesting she should wipe my goggle for me? Or does "wiping your goggle" have a slang meaning I'm not aware of? wink

@irie, hang on, you're saying you wipe your own goggles? I always have a goggle-wala travel with me. On the very few occasions I give them a day off of I ask a lifty to clean them for me, they're (almost always) very happy to oblige.

@Dr John, Now there's a thought, I could ask my goggle-wala to wipe mine with some tissues but I think she prefers doing that with a modicum of privacy. Madeye-Smiley

You really shouldn't wipe goggles with tissue anyway. Always carry a small sheet of 300 grit wet-and-dry sandpaper and vigorously buff any smudges and smears away.

@Dr John, I think they prefer the term Goggle Caddy these days, and if you don't directly employ your own, it's well worth hiring one. They not only wipe for you, but carry additional lenses and a good one would offer constructive advice as to which lens to use depending on prevailing conditions. It goes without saying that you should always use a properly licensed and bonded Goggle Caddy, not some teenager hired by your tour operator or ski club to act as some kind of 'optical ambassador'.

@Richard_Sideways, Bu*ger (am I allowed to say that in this clean living forum?), that's reminded me that I have to wet-and-dry (wet in this case) the edges of my Volkl topsheets to stop further chipping. Sad Only cosmetic I know but ...

I'll wipe them with tissues afterwards, promise. Happy

@irie, I have ski-sleeves to stop scratching my topsheets (basically 2 massive buffs). They slow me down, admittedly, but my skis are box-fresh.

While you're working on them, why not replace the old steel edges for ones made out of Potassium. They'll sharpen easily and you'll never have to worry about losing them again!
