Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

I prefer Stockholm's approach - an extra runway and a fleet of snowploughs worthy of International rescue Happy

getting the train from BSM home tomorrow eve. Despite georgeous powder out there today - actually bum tickling deep, even on piste - and still snowing after starting 45 hours ago, am assured by viilage reps that buses and funiciualr will be fine tomorrow. Will however take crisps and water for the 20 min journey. from 1950 - 1600.

@ringingmaster, a friend came up to Annecy earlier via Taninges and it was fine. HEavy snow so good winter tyres needed and chains for the side roads.

Ploughs are going NON stop here but it is falling so fast.

I'm about 15 minutes drive from GVA and not in the least surprised there are delays. My garden is knee deep in fresh powder and the roads are more chaotic than I've seen. My 10 min commute home just took over an hour

As we left our house by Lake Geneva at about 3pm it was starting to snow heavily, and our dog sitter has sent a photo of the situation in the early evening of pretty deep snow lying there now

We managed to drive around the lake, through the Valais and up to Leukerbad in pretty clear conditions, and it was only the last bit that was a bit trickier, but fine in our Honda CRV. However it hasn't stop snowing since, and snow around town now is pretty thick and fluffy. Saw a bloke being pulled through town on a snowboard by a Huskie.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@bleudegex, but, I presume, Gex side. Which may mean deeper.

Our garden is at around 1,150m and I guess 40-50cms when we arrived this afternoon. SiL is at 1,000m and on her sheltered lawn about 80cms.

A small move sideways can make a big difference.

@under a new name, yeah sure, am maybe 200-300m higher than the airport. So should be less snow there, but it's still pretty chaotic all round.

The roads up into Champagny are still clear, just seen a snow plough out around midnight and it has stopped snowing now so access should be fine tomorrow.

They did - flight about an hour late and roads a bit interesting, but all safely on site without too much ado.
