Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Advice on boot fit

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
HI
I have borrowed a pair of snowboard boots for my 1st trip to try snowboarding in a week or 2. I am a UK size 8 shoe always, and the boots are UK 8. When trying them on around the house I am finding that they are "snug". Ie ok but absolutely no spare room when wearing the ski socks ill be using. Should this worry me (ie will my feet swell at all when on the mountain) Theyre not uncomfortable when in the boarding position (ie not walking around like you might try on normal footwear) but they are proper snug.
Do I get a bigger size?
thanks

They should be a snug fit, without obvious pressure points, pain or heel lift. Some people say that your toes should just touch the end of the toe box when stood upright and then when you flex your knees/ankles into riding position they should pull away.

In general if there's no pain, go for it. Whats the worst that could happen, on the first day you end up in pain, rent a pair for the week.......

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?
