Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Calais drop off location for taxi or rendezvous

I am driving over via Eurotunnel and staying in Calais for a night (very close to ET terminal). OH is travelling back overnight from a course in Bavaria and is going to be dropped early morning at the ferry terminal in order to meet up with us and travel on to the Alps.

Can anyone suggest somewhere

a) convenient for his driver to drop him close to the ferry port

and b) that I can get to easily or if I can't be bothered somewhere he could get a taxi from in order to join me for breakfast

Hi @igLou, I did something similar last winter to RDV with a mate in Calais - we arranged to meet at the Carrefour hypermarket on Rue Vervant Toumaniantz, just off junction 3 from the main N216 road that goes to the ferry port. Local taxi driver knew exactly where it was and it was easy for me to drive to straight off the N216 at the end of my drive up from the Tarentaise. Hope that helps.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Snow Beard, thank you I will get the map out now.

This is Plan B - Plan A was for him to catch the train to Geneva via Zurich and meet there. Plan B is much cheaper Very Happy Though it is half term so going to be a long day in the car as I could have got to Troyes the night before Toofy Grin

Why not meet in the ferry terminal? It's indoors so no one will be hanging around in the cold and there are 'services' to hand.

I'll admit that making sure you drive to the right bit is demanding - but not impossible.
