Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sallopettes to fit a slim teenage boy ?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I am really struggling to find a pair of sallopettes for my slim 14 year old - all are so big on the waist and hips ! Have tried North face which is what he had before but they have changed their design and no longer have the adjustable waist. Also a Helly Hansen pair which did have a velcro adjustable waist ( but no braces) but still huge on him - plus the leg wasn't very bootleg and a previous review had said it didn't fit easily over a ski boot.
Looking at max spend of £70 so Spyder is out of the running - he will have grown out of them by next season.

Found a dare2be pair which will at least stay up ( adjustable waist and braces) and cheap at £30 but still too wide on hips - plus I am worried if this cheaper brand will be ok perforamce wise ( warmth & waterproofing ?)

Any ideas ?

Thank you

@IwishICouldThinkOfAFabNam, We used to get Columbia ones for ours or XS Quicksilver ones.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Bought ours in the foothills of the Alps, many years ago, on the drive to resort, or once rather expensively after a delayed journey, actually in a resort. It was back then the only place to get 'youth' salopettes. At least one pair was bought at a Decathalon. If you are driving you may want to consider the option of shopping enroute especially if you already have a pair that might 'do' at a push.

Try "Picture Organic Clothing" - same issue with a 15 year old who is delighted . . . . might be a bit over budget but worth it as can be worn baggy so expect more than one season!

I have the same problem with our son who's just turned 15. I have a pair of slim fitting North Face trousers that he only wore for 5/6 days that are now too short about to be sold and some Sypder ones that are even shorter.

Don't know if your interested?

@IwishICouldThinkOfAFabNam, I have found Quiksilver good for teens in the past but 15yr old currently in TNF youth. I wouldn't have any concerns about Dare2b quality. I still reckon there's a gap in the market for teen boys clothing, not just ski wear.

@IwishICouldThinkOfAFabNam, those Decathlon ones with the adjustable leg length might work, Pull n Fit I think. Imo Decathlon sizing is smallish but tallish!

Do you mean Salopettes or trousers? I wear trousers (perhaps they come with braces, but I don't remember), but I always need a belt to hold them up. That they're a bit baggy at the waist n hips isn't a problem, partly because that's hidden under a jacket when we're skiing. Just look for trousers which have belt loops, or an integrated belt?

And is baggy no longer cool for teens? Hard for me to know as my 15 year old son is even less interested in 'cool' than I am!
