Planning on going to meribel and looking best/cheapest transfers from geneva got a decent price of snowbus but have to wait for 2 hours so was thinking hiring a car which is cheaper but didnt know how much the hidden costs are such as tolls and parking for a week in meribel unless you can park for free ?

@deeppow, don't forget the possibility that it could dump down with snow on your transfer day(s) and you'll need to pay for (and fit) chains to get you up the hairpin bends, at night, on the wrong side of the road...

A car's great if your in a resort where other resorts are a quick drive away. Meribel is fantastic for linked skiing but you're not really going to be driving anywhere else and you're car will sit idle for a week. I'd go for a transfer.

Thanks lads and ladies agree with all your comments think I just get transfers and treat the misses to a posh sandwich at geneva train station should kill the 2 hours and pick skis up early nxt morning

@deeppow, Have you seen the pound/swiss franc exchange rate recently? Buy the sandwich in the UK and secrete it in your luggage.
