Poster: A snowHead

So we've taken the plunge and bought our first skis, from different shops and mine threw in a bag as part of the deal, hubby got nothing extra! Trouble is his skis only just fit in my bag, is that safe or should they be in a bigger bag than the skis with any padding? How should they be packed for travelling? All new to us

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

I take off my wife's back binding.
Both fit in lovely after that.
As for padding in between the ski's....... I fear you are going to have a melt down the 1st time a newbie goes over the top of them in a lift queue.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It's the length that's an issue, just wondered if they're better off in a bag with space either end or is wedged in ok?!

Wedged in is fine. My skis only just go in my bag. Wrap a towel or a coat, anything really, around the binding, then pray the baggage handler gods are kind to you

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

When we used to travel with skis in a ski bag, we always had them stuck together as a pair with two of those Velcro straps. Do other people think the Velcro is a good idea?

Yeah, strap them together @andy1234. Less chance of any damage to the skis, or whatever else is in the bag then.
