Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

In all the years of using meteox to trace the depressions coming in from the Atlantic and hitting the cold continental air mass (hopefully with the collision right above Crans Montana = BIG SNOW), I have NEVER seen a pattern like this.

either the modelling is entirely up the spout or something quite exceptional is happening.

The big winds at the moment are typical of October in the UK, not January.

Well I've just filled my truck up with logs for the weekend and I might get an extra bottle of milk just in case...

@valais2, I seem to remember gales for most of Jan 2014 in Scotland, caused big drifting at the resorts and a lot of closed days. A new trend?

This is the one time a picture hasn't painted a thousand words. Please give me 999 words to explain what..... that all means!!

jimmybog - phew - the modelling was clearly all over the place earlier today - some glitch in meteox that I have never seen in all the years I have used it. It's back to normal patterns now...nice fronts coming across in the usual way....

markmen - meteox is a great service for climbers and skiers - satellite real time and nicely modelled predictions - useful in deciding whether to go up to the highest heights, stay on simple routes or put the kettle on and drink coffee all day. This morning it clearly went bonkers, and the modelling was just weird.
