Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

La Plagne: Lift pass options for complete beginner

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi all,

I'm taking my dad skiing for the first time in a few weeks and looking at staying in Belle Plagne.

He's never skied before but would like to try, but actually may end up just hiking/snow shoeing most of the time.

We're only going for 4 days, can anyone suggest what lift pass would be the best option for him? The magic carpet in Bellecote seems like the best place to try out skiing for him, but then hiking wise it would be good for him to have access to the gondola as well.

Cheers in advance for any help!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@chopkins13, get him good lessons and ask the ski school what he might need.

If you're staying in Belle Plagne then he may want access to the gondola to get to The magic carpet. Made the mistake of taking a complete beginner last year and the first thing we did was the route from Belle Plagne to Bellecote, which is far too steep, icy and narrow for a guy that has only just strapped on skis.

@SnoodyMcFlude, is the gondola free? The magic carpet in bellecote is exactly where I envisaged him 'giving it a go'.
