Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Snoworks Back-Country Course - Cormayeur / Val D'Isere

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone was planning on going on the back country course with Snoworks on the 22nd Feb in Val, or 1st March in Cormayeur?

Does anyone have any thoughts on which location is best for this sort of trip?

Thanks!

@capability, I've done a few snoworks courses and will be doing the Gressoney Backcountry trip 1st February, fully booked I believe but I managed to get on it having sourced my own accommodation.

With good snow both are awesome, but points that IMO go against EK, it's French school holidays, if there's good snow it will get tracked out quickly but I'd expect the Snoworks guys to find you the best snow possible. Courmeyeur is the gateway to some awesome off piste. In comparison (the resort) is tiny compared to the EK. Last year none half term when I was on the course we still be down fresh tracks in the EK but on most of the 'classic' routes there'd be plenty of others too.

Depends on your ability too I guess to a certain extent? Have you done a SW course before?

courmayour gives you access to the valle blanche and other great off piste routes , also a nice ski town with great pizza (the tunnel

@Bene, thanks for the information!

Some good points for the EK - I've been there a few times so it would be good to see another part of the Alps. I think I'll go for the Courmayeur trip. I think I'm a level 4 on their scale....

Do you know what the approximate age / range is typically? It would be good to have similar aged people to ski with. I'm 27.

Really looking forward to it!

 Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

As to age range - I went on a Snoworks course recently and was definitely towards the younger end of the demographic (being a child of the early 70s). It seems Snoworks has a loyal returning customer base.
