Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Large female ski boot sizes

 Poster: A snowHead

Hello All!

My partner is pretty tall and subsequently has pretty large but still feminine feet, so finds discomfort whilst wearing mens boots.

Does anyone know of any manufacturers/specialists who go up to a mondo 28/28.5?

Thanks folks

What size is your girl in street shoes? I'm a 9 1/2 in ladies shoes and a 9 in men's yet wear a 26.5 mondo boot. I have a pair of 27.5 head edge women's boots in white/silver she can have for £20 plus postage or collect from Kent or London if they are worth trying. They have been worn 18 days and in vg condition.

Men's vs. Women's Ski Boots

Many women, especially women with wider feet consider buying men’s ski boots. However there are several differences in design, therefore we recommend that women use women’s ski boots. Unfortunately, women’s ski boots aren’t produced in sizes larger than 27.5 so if you need a size 28 or larger then men’s ski boots are the only option.

I'd suggest getting some specialist boot fitting help, my wife is an 8.5-9 and is in a 26/26.5 and i'm sure that is due to the footbed. Depending on her measured size it may be possible to get in a 27.5.

Good luck!

@Gartcoshyy, 27.5 is the largest "woman specific" boot made, by woman specific it means pretty colours, softer flex than the unisex counterpart and depending on the model a lower cut sometimes fluffier liner

what is the discomfort? is it the calf muscle or something else, a good boot fitter should be able to adjust a boot to accommodate the calf which is the most common cause of complaint

a 28/28.5 is the big end of a 10 1/2 or 11 depending on the model and as yet i have only met one woman who needed this boot size, seen a few who need a 27.5 though
