Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Val d’Isere skiing lessons

Heading to Val d’Isere end of Feb. I understand it is quite subjective but can anyone recommend a ski school? If so is there a specific instructor you would recommend.

I want to get a couple of private lesson to ‘iron out’ any problems with my technique and hopefully improve my skiing level.

I've tried 3 different ski schools as well as esf in the espace killy, and the best tuition by far has to be tdc, although i did use the tignes office. I would recommend a particular instructor if only i could remember his name! Puzzled

Last season I was one of a group of 3 who did the 3 x half day Development Plus Clinic with Colin Tanner at TDC , great time , off piste, bumps, carving , something to suit all and great instruction and we found loads of fresh when it looked like everything was tracked out. Great local knowledge.

Recommend for sure, either guy calked Xavier raguin from New Generation (british oriented school) who I had a few hours with last minute when on hol over Christmas and was fantastic. or as someone else has said on here - Steve, from TDC who is meant to be excellent.

Check out the websites as they are very clear. I booked my lesson online on Xmas eve with new gen. Really good service.

Sent Steve an email. Looks tad pricey compared to others but I'll see what he says.

I had lessons with BASS (British Alpine Ski School) whilst we were out there, young Scottish lad, worked wonders on my confidence and sorting out my bad habits!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Thanks everyone. Steve has replied to my email and if we can fit in a lesson I will book with him.

One point for future readers. Val D is more expensive for lessons than other resorts. Both then it's more expensive for most other things too.
