Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Saalbach transfers from Salzburg

Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a good (cheapish?) local taxi firm to get from Salzburg Airport to Saalbach, I know there is a bus...

But I have 9 people, it must be cheaper booking a private taxi?

@haydent, Welcome to snowheads.

The usual recommendation is Holiday-shuttle.at, but their standard minibus taxis only seat 8 passengers for €210 each way. Next size up is 19 seats. You can try calling them, or other Saalbach taxi companies such as Cab Tours ( 0043 6644 020570) or Rainer (0043 6541 6261) to see if any of them has a 9-12 seater, or if they will do the larger vehicle for the same price. Do not pick up a taxi off the Salzburg Airport taxi rank - it will cost a fortune.

Thanks for the reply...

I emailed the taxi guys today a couple replied but were asking for 620 euros return for the 9 and holiday shuttle was 780..

Maybe I should put one friend on the bus........ or I need to find a taxi firm with 9 person taxi..

@haydent, I've used Salzburg Transfers, +43 699 171 89 2 89, for the last 3 years and for a mini bus they charge €300 return to Saalbach. Admittedly that is for 6 adults but it's worth giving them a call.

@haydent, did you manage to find a 12 seater? Let me know if you do as I am also looking for one!

Try Vorderegger (www.vorderegger.at). I saw one of their minibuses in Saalbach today and it was larger than the average minibus, so maybe a 12-seater.

@quinton, Thanks Q, contacted them yesterday and they have a 16 seater which is cheaper than the 19 seater we would otherwise have been getting.
