Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Extra Security at Ports

Hi, travelling to France at the weekend via Eurotunnel.

Has anyone gone through very recently and if so is any extra security causing any delays.

Just been looking at the Port of Dover site for the same reason but nothing posted that I can find.

Went through on the 26th Dec and back on 3rd. Security going out took about 30 seconds and on the way back about a minute!
In fact - I got the eurotunnel and drove all the way to Austria, had a week there, then drove all the way back to Calais before someone asked to see a Passport!

We came back through the tunnel late on Saturday. Very quiet and no significant delay. No extra checks as far as I could make out.
