We are staying in Tignes Les Brev and coming in on the sleeper train to Bourg SM on 17th Jan Saturday morning. I’m planning on us getting the Altibus up to Brev. Is there any advantage (point) in booking it in advance? Or would it be easier just to pay on the day?
Cheers
John

Having used Altibus to LDA from Grenoble, the bus was full...so chances of buying tickets on the day slim. Of course, that was a different route, may well be different from Bourg.

I have never used a bus transfer, preferring to use a taxi cos (with a big group) it's cheaper. In my experience, there always seemed space on the bus. But what harm is there in booking in advance on the web? Good taxi man is Gilles on +33 6.17.81.61.01

I used them for GVA to Cham and we pre booked. It was a great service.

@Sowler, in theory they insist on booking in advance but of course you might be lucky on the day....... That's very tight for the train - if that's the only train you should probably get an earlier bus.

@Sowler, is there any point to not booking in advance

Sorry been at the pub!
When all trains arrive at BSM 2 queues form - one for bus tickets, one for the toilets. If you have pre booked tickets you can then feel smug and go to the loo knowing the bus won't leave until the queue at the ticket office has dissolved.

@Sowler, thank you for reminding me to book my bus place for Wednesday morning (Aime to Plagne 1800, 07:40hrs) - might have forgotten without your post.
I always book: allows me to get the front seat and enjoy coffee and croissant while others queue for tickets.

Sowler, I live in Les Arcs and use the bus regularly. if you are travelling at the weekend DEFINITELY book in advance. It's much quieter in the week but normally is at least half full. Not worth the risk

Thanks for the response everybody. All booked now. Interestingly, if you are under 26, you get a slightly (2 euros cheaper) return fare.
