Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Heated gloves - anybody tried them out?

Hi All,

My OH suffers badly with cold hands/fingers while skiing, and has seen heated 'Thermic Power Gloves' in our local ski store.

He has a birthday coming up in a few weeks time, and we are wondering whether to club together to buy him a pair as it's something that could be a real help to him - if they actually work!

At just under £200, this is quite an investment, so was wondering if anyone is familiar with this glove, and if you can recommend (or not) accordingly...

Thank you! Smile

I've recommended Blazewear liners a few times - see http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?p=2642991&highlight=#2642991

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Bought Mrs Ansta1 a pair of the Blazewear GT6 gloves, well made, nice fit and the batteries aren't too intrusive. Not used in anger yet but quality seems very good and in testing they do seem to get pretty toasty.

@DebbieD, http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=115115

We have ~6 years of heated inner glove experience and are very pleased with the Blazewear ones. Only £100.

 Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

We sell the Blazewear stuff and I really rate the heated liners, having used a pair paragliding in the Himalaya at 3-5000m this autumn. However, I don't know how well they would cope with getting wet?

@DoubleD, has he tried just resting them in a warm place every so often.

I have a pair I bought for paragliding but never bothered with them for skiing. I tell to find the batteries run out quickly and they're a bit of a faff. Putting one of those small, disposable chemical warmers in the palm of glove works well though.

As he says. Ours went as the battery life wasn't sufficient. Mitts and tea bags Cool
