Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Touring baskets for Salomon poles

I'm looking for touring baskets for Salomon poles but can't find anything online. The poles are approx 10-11mm diameter where the current baskets are.

I've tried reusing old ones from a broken set of poles but they seem to be designed to go on to a wider (14-15mm) part of the pole designed to grip the baskets.

Any advice appreciated!

Don't have salomon poles but wanted larger baskets on the ones I have. I managed to remove the old baskets from the ferrule by softening them with hot water, then slide on some of these : http://www.ellis-brigham.com/products/black-diamond/black-diamond-powder-baskets-pair-ski-poles/222503
having likewise softened them in hot water.
