Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Helmet Advice

Hi Guys

I have a Giro G10 helmet in Large that Ive had for a few seasons. Ive never been happy with the fit.

I have a long but slim head and the Giro has always felt too wide.

I go away in 2 weeks and need to get something sorted. My nearest shop is an hour away so dont want to go if I dont know what I need

Any suggestions? Will also require new goggles so if you have any combo ideas let me have it!!

Thanks!

An hour's drive is worth it to try some different types - especially if it's a good store with plenty of choice of helmets and then goggles to fit.

I've a similarly shaped head and (un)fortunately the only make that seems to fit is Sweet Protection which are pricey. But comfy!

totally agree that an hours drive is worth it, just trying to d oa little homework before I get to the store. The store is Ellis Brigham so hopefully they have stock of a few styles etc. Anyone else know any other stores near Sheffield?

I will take a look at the Sweet Protection Tom, thanks

@rickyday33, you could measure your head circumference before you go to make sure they have a few choices in your size

Why can't you try to find anything in the resort? Just before Xmas I bought a Salomon Ranger in Mayrhofen for 125EUR which was a few quid cheaper than in most UK based stores.

Doesn't someone (maybe salomon) make a helmet that has a small air pump/baldders to customise fit if you've an 'unusual' shaped head? Might be worth a look?

@rogg, Salomon, have one and it works really well as you can inflate it to the fit you prefer.

@rickyday33,

About an hour from you is Robinhood watersports they sell sweet protection helmets. The Sweet Protection models all have slightly different shapes so if one model does not fit your head another should.

As you can see they have some really good sale prices on again but best to phone re stock levels before driving up, if you decide to go.

@rickyday33,
Salomon does Custom Air helmets which have a pump. It inflates the back but not the sides. If you read details about all their helmets on their website you can also see that some of them are round and some are eliptical. So maybe that bit of information would be helpful for you?
