Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

So, the wife and I have a week off work from the 17th Jan, so the plan is to book a late deal where ever the snow is.
Problem is nowhere as far as I can tell (in Europe) has epic snow (i.e decent off piste) and the foreseeable future seems to not offer much change.
So if you had a choice to book somehwere, where would you head to get the best snow in southern Europe? At the momant I am leaning towards west austria somewhere but having never benn there I am not yet really sure where to begin looking!

Any adivce from those in the know!?

Given the choice, child free I would head for Obertauern in Austria every time. And from the look of their current webcams, no shortage of snow at the moment...

Have just been in a similar position but going out a week earlier - we have gone for St Anton (after some advice from this site) - but the long range forecast isn't great so I would give it another week. If using a TO you may have to use one of the dumping sites - we got ours on iglu - there were 6 of us and managed to get somewhere so I'd hope with just 2 you should be OK. Good luck Very Happy
