Hello,
Have been going to Avoriaz for a couple of years but don't think we are getting the full benefit.
So, how do we get to Morzine in the evening for dinner? I mean literally, is it go to the bottom of Avoriaz and get the new cable lift but where does that take us?? Do we then get a bus??
Sorry for being so dense but we go to Avoriaz and as just intermediate skiers do a couple of runs we know and eat in Avoriaz every night. This year I am determined to just spread out a bit more! Although we love Avoriaz.
Cheers!

@fairfields, i'm not aware that there's any public transport between any of the Avoriaz uplifts and anywhere in the evening. Pretty sure there isn't.

Hello @fairfields, I beleive Les Prodains cable car runs till around 9 or 10 in the evening but that does not take you into Morzine. There may be a couple of restaurants open to the public in the evenings pretty adjacent to the cable car though. There is a free navette that runs from Les Prodains into Morzine but I`m not sure how late that runs. The tourist office will be able to give you more information if you send them an email.

@fairfields, As an alternative couldn't you stay in Morzine and go up to Avoriaz to ski?

This is true! But really like Avoriaz and only wanted to go for a bite to eat in Morzine with family! Fair point though thanks

The alternative response is Changabang (though I accept a chilli burger for lunch and dinner every day for a week is probably a bit much!)

My kids (and I) happily eat twister fries and various burgers for lunch every day for a week at Changabang - I'm sure having our tea there wouldn't be too much of a stretch...

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Now how can I persuade Mrs DJL that Changabang is the best option when we have a foray over the Avoriaz side next week?

Just to clarify the cable car timings, the best nights to do this would be Friday and Saturday when the lift runs until midnight. Sunday is 10pm and Monday -Thursday I think is 7pm, the times are displayed at both up and down entrances.
Most restaurants have some sort of relationship with taxi companies.
I stay in a chalet in the Les Prodains area and the cost of a taxi (4 person) from central Morzine I was slightly less than €15 last time I used it.
I'd definitely recommend an occasional evening out in Morzine.
Also, the restaurants at a couple of the hotels in Les Prodains are fairly good for a change of scenery (but best to book since they have guests for dinner each night). The two I know best are Les Prodains and La Kinkerne.

Alternatively what time do the nightclubs in Morzine actually close?
You might be able to party through till places open for breakfast/the Super Morzine starts up 😊

A quick amendment to my post above
La Kinkerne no longer serves dinner, it is now a b & b hotel and bar, they've been badly affected by the closing of the old cable car
