Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

transfer to Scheffau from Salzburg

Poster: A snowHead
Two of us hoping to go to Scheffau in January for 5 days but struggling to find cheaper transfer from Salzburg. Is bus/train/bus or taxi cheapest way? We don't want to rent a car really, never driven in snow.
Thank you.

@sarah jane, I think these guys do transfers to SkiWelt as well as Kitzbuhel:

Plus a bit of googling found these too:

I'm sure it's possible by train as well.

We took a train today from Landeck to Zell am Ziller. Austrian trains are really good, we had one of the old style carriages with a corridor down one side and six seats in each compartment. Standing on a platform in the snow, waiting on the Vienna express was kind of cool too. Felt like we should've had some sixties spy movie soundtrack playing.

@sarah jane, taxi or bus down to Kufstein, then train to Salzburg Hauptbahnhof. Take the tram from right outside the main entrance to the airport - simples! And cheaper than a transfer service. You should be able to get an all-in-one ticket to the airport from Kufstein. http://www.oebb.at/en/ Put Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser as the departure point and Salzburg Airport as your destination

Line 2 bus from Salzburg Hauptbahnhof to the airport. 2.5 Euro per person.

Thanks Sue. I am trying to use the 0ebb website. Really for inward to Scheffau from Salzburg. Do I go to Kufstein for that as well? (Otherwise seems to say go for St Johann and then bus from there) Thanks for your help. Looking forward to the adventure and practising my German!

I recently travelled between Salzburg and Jenbach and there are certainly 2-3 stops on the way, so you may be in look there. The train to Jenbach was 38 euro, so should be about 30ish euros. If you can get a stop close by. Sorry I can't remember off the top of my head which stations we stopped at.

@sarah jane, Kufstein has more choice of trains, but a lot depends on your timings.

Not sure what the options are or how old you have to be. Retirement here is at least 65 for both, so if you match that then worth asking!
