Off to Obergurgl for first time over new year. Hoping for some recommendations for family friendly options for eating as we are self catering. Is there anything special on at New Year?

@Zippy100, welcome to snow heads. Pizzeria Belmonte, the pic nic and pizzeria Romantika are good. Evenings at Nederhutte, David's Hutte and Hohe Mutte are worth exploring.
New year is massive. Gala dinners everywhere. Can be a bit pricey. Fireworks are stunning and coordinated so all the villages in the valley fire off in sequence.
Just had 4 days there and snow is in excellent condition.

@Zippy100, when do you travel? I'm guessing this weekend in which case there's time when you arrive. We did NY at Dvid's Hutte a few years back which was brilliant. Great food and entertainment and a stunning spot for the fireworks.

We travel on Saturday. Can't wait. Never been to Obergurgl before and only my 2nd time skiing. Can you book at David's Hutte or do you just turn up early? Not sure we will make it till midnight with 3 kids!! Any other tips we should know about?

Obergurgl is great! Don't forget to take the kids to Nederhutte for some apres ski and table dancing! My son loves it!
