PT jobs in ski towns - do they exist? Has anyone done something like it?
Got a CV as long as my arm with various degrees, courses and lots of experience and love my job, but want it to be in the mountains! Has anyone used PT's or sports massage in resort? Has anyone worked as a trainer out in resorts somewhere?
Any help/knowledge would be mucho apreciado.

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

I'm not an expert but there do seem to be massage services in most resorts and some of them are Brits. I know even less about the PT side but I would have thought you'd be more looking at residents (probably limited), seasonnaires (unlikely to have the cash) and more likely local athletes (more likely to use locals too). I cant imagine many people would use a PT on their one week skiing holiday.
Last winter I spent 9 weeks skiing and suffered quite a lot with back problems needing a fair bit of massage and other physio after. This year I'll probably get some massage while away to head it off.

@Claude B, that's what I'm thinking. Doesn't seem to be a way in as far as I can tell from fairly extensive research, in any countries. May have to tout the massage a lot more if I can find a sports rehab clinic that's hiring somewhere!
May have phrased the first post slightly wrong as well - thinking more towns that are ski resorts, rather than dedicated ski resorts. Think Whistler, Bend, Park City etc rather than Les Arcs. That way there's a proper city to work out of.

@joe1890, I know there is in Innsbruck, and I know some people are doing it (self employed) in Bludenz.
If you could find a space to rent and provide equipment you could probably make quite good money around here (Montafon), as the nearest gym is a bout 40 minutes away and ridiculously expensive!

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@joe1890, I have a mate in Verbier who does well doing a crossfit style thing. Focused more on workers and permanent residents that tourists.

@clarky999, it's all about finding the space and cash however to set all that up! Plus licensing etc etc... It becomes a right nightmare!
@Steve Sparks tourists wouldn't be interested in the training aspect for sure; it would be massage only. Crossfit gyms are popping up all over the place too. There's always some red tape to get over however, and without cash to pay consultants and lawyers, setting something up solo is a nightmare - in England, let alone EU.

joe1890, Why not look to work in an existing gym ? There are big ones in plenty of resorts now.
Alternatively see if any of the British race academies could use a specialist fitness trainer.

That's the plan. Just seeing if anyone had knowledge of the gyms themselves from either a personal or professional standpoint..
There's a few in Chamonix that I've seen.

joe1890, I have used the gyms in Tignes, Les Menuires and Megeve. All were busy whenever I was in them.
