 Poster: A snowHead
|
Having been away for a while I returned to a week or so ago as part of the annual ritual of checking various blogs, forecasts and webcams, convincing myself that the more I read the better the conditions will get.
It appears that the general mood has been a little subdued (certainly in the SnowBoarding part of the forum), and I too have been feeling this way until the last 24 hours. But look, wait, what's that? Finally some good sustained storm systems coming in, the daily accumulation changing from a meaningless '<1cm' to '15-20cm' or more. The prospects of real cold rather than mild dampness, the excitement, the strapping in for the first time in 9 months, good times with good peeps on the hill. Lets forget the 'bloggers' and disgruntled reviews for now and just remeber its all about to happen . Apart from the obvious as listed above, what are we all looking forward to most this season?
Happy 2014/15 shredding SnowHeads!

Let's hope this comes true - the weather does seem to cool down this weekend which would be great.
Me & the Mrs are a bit obsessive on weather at the moment having never seen snow (or lack of) this late. In the 6 Xmas's we've spent in Val D, its been spot on every year.
She even shouted me yesterday to say it was snowing in our garden. I ran out with excitement but she was getting confused with rain, ummmm

To answer this question, I'm looking forward to a 1 week offpiste camp in Val D in Dec, followed by my first (hopefully I'll be good enough) heliboarding trip in Jan - I have booked the chopper for the last 2 days of my trip
Then the boys trip to Japan (Niesko) in Feb - been looking at youtube vids and feeling like a kid at Xmas

Niseko/Japan look great, and also relatively cheaper then it used to, or is that me just trying to convince myself?
I'm off to Revelstoke in mid February, they've had 292cm already this season and I keep seeing 20-30cm days on their total so I'm amped already too.

Ahh Japan! Trying to get that one organised at some point in the next few years. Its been taunting a group of us for years and I think its just time to stop worrying about the cost and just take the plunge. A case of convincing one's self that its getting cheaper, @rogg!
