Hello Folks just looking for some info on Plan Peisey.
We have an offfer of a good deal in Jan in a Chalet.
We are a group of 4 guys in our 40s who like to ski all day and have a few beers when the lifts close. We did Arc 2000 2 years ago.
Love to hear your thoughts on the village.

We went to ClubMed in Plan Peisey back in 2010 and had a great time. One of the drawbacks of ClubMed is that you don't really get out much to see the village, but from the small amount of wandering we did do I don't remember much of a village at all. I'm sure there is a bar and a pizza place (or possibly two), but it will be pretty quiet for the nightlife. It's entirely possible there is another part of the village heaving with casinos, nightclubs, and rampant totty...... but I didn't find it I'd definitely go back for the the skiing and strongly recommend the area as long as you don't want too much apres ski.

@Chick, just check where the chalet is. There are seemingly various definitions of Peisey as to whether they mean the ski but or the village!
There are a few bars etc across Peisey and nearby (walking dist) Vallandry, but it's small scale compared to bigger resorts

There are a few bars/restaurants. You have la vache and a few others in peisey and plan peisey is also within walking distance to mnt blanc bar and Jimmy's in vallandry.
The skiing in the area is good and peisey is right by the vanoise over to la plagne.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@Chick, Good advice from @Boris, to check exact location of your chalet, but if you are in Plan Peisey you should be fine - I would imagine it is quieter that Arc 2000 though. Is your chalet catered? Mont Blanc, Le Solan & La Vache are all good for a few beers when the lifts close. As is Chez Felix, on the road between PP & Vallandry. Not sure if Solan does happy hour, but the Blanc, Vache & Felix did last year, certainly. Ask away if you have any more questions - we love it & spend a while there each year.

The Chalet is called Bayona and is 150m from the chair lift.

@Chick, Very handy! Solan will be your closest beers, but Chez Felix not far behind. Is it through Skibeat? If so, try to book la Vache for chalet staff night off - book early as it gets busy when the staff have their night off. Also the Mont Blanc isn't far from you. Chalet looks lovely too, by the way

Thanks Genepi. It is through direct ski.We are looking ar going on Jan 10th and some of the guys are worried that it might be too quiet in the village as we have another option for Austria. All we want is somewhere with a bit of life between the end of skiing and dinner time in the chalet.

Hi...... I've also been here several time and recommend La Caleche. it's a quiet area so I hope not looking for anything lively. you however right next to the vanoise chair and cable car so it's am excellent position for the ski lover. All the best

@Chick, although you booked through directski Bayona is definitely a SkiBeat chalet (directski own SkiBeat, directski is predominantly hotels and apartments, SkiBeat chalets only). The Peisey chalets are very nice, I've been in Bayona before and I think it's a good one and a handy location for the slopes. If you've got specific question you could PM dheason, he did a few seasons for SkiBeat in Peisey so should know the chalets and locations better than anyone.

Dav. As far as i know Direct Ski and SkiBeat are owned by Topflight. My only concern is that the village might be a bit too quiet znd lacking the buzz you find in bigger resorts. We are not party animals just like a resort that has a bit of life at the end of the day and is nice to go for a stroll.

You're actually correct, yes. All part of the same organisation though, and SkiBeat is the chalet arm.
I can't really comment too much on how busy it is after the slopes, I've only been there a couple of times but it seemed busy enough to me in the bars we visited. It's certainly not as lively as somewhere like St. Anton, Meribel or Val d'Isere but then it's not supposed to be, that's not what Peisey is about. But in terms of ski area and chalet, it's a cracker.

The charm about Peisey is that it is very quiet. For many people that's the reason they go back there year after year.
The fact you have asked makes me think it will not be what you are looking for.

I suspect that Jan 10 will be fairly quiet everywhere. The holy grail is a the resort that is very quiet during the day and bustling at night, but the more likely scenario is crowded during the day and deserted at night. However I suspect Peisey will be quiet day and night at that time of year. The bars will be open and the pistuers drinking. IMHO it will be a good time and place to go

Bayona is a great chalet and fantastic for the lifts. Nightlife as others have said is a bit quieter but apres at the blanc is always good and there are generally bands playing once or twice a week. It is low season but that tends to mean the seasonnaires get out a bit more so it won't be dead!
