Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

going ski-ing at New Year again, and fed up of suffering bitterly cold hands so going to get some mitts for Christmas, willing to push the boat out and go up to £75.
Any recommendations appreciated snowHead

@simonx, those look fairly expensive for what they are, for marginally more you could have an all leather glove which will last for years. I've just picked up some of these, and frankly trying them on my main concern is that my hands will overheat.

Worth getting something with a removable liner which you can take out and get really dry overnight, which will help to stay warm. In my experience Snow & Rock is normally not the cheapest place to buy Hestra products, so worth shopping around unless you have a store locally and need to try them on etc.

I have a pair of the Kaj and sverre 3 finger he's teas and love them, the inner liner does a great job of regulating heat and have never had a problem with overheating. worth every penny!

looking around for Hestra's 3-finger "K&S" or "Leather Army Wool" equivalent. Struggling to find them, but on a general point why would leather be better than Gore-Tex like the mitts in the original post?

Cheers.

@simonx, personally I find it lasts better, feels better, but there really isn't much between them. The leather maybe very marginally less waterproof and very marginally more insulated.
