Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

You lot like a bit of skiing don't you? Well, this surfaced today.
So long an the short of it - two more alpine skiers getting some dosh...

Quote:

British Ski and Snowboard (BSS) has announced an increase in direct funding to Alpine athletes, with British Alpine team athletes Jack Gower and Charlie Raposo now also receiving financial support alongside Dave Ryding, Alex Tilley and Charlie Guest.

In August, BSS announced an extension of its athlete funding within Alpine racing, and now athlete funding either through bursaries or programmes has increased by 30% on a like for like basis from £108,000 to just over £140,000.

A major part of this programme is to support athletes that have potential to increase Britain’s quota slots at World Cup and Europa Cup level. The funding allocations were made by BSS’s Alpine Business Group who concluded that all five athletes are already at a level consistent with the requirements needed for the relevant band.

Tony Willis, Chairman of the Alpine Business Group said: “We need to be able to support our Alpine athletes to be able to have a chance of achieving our targets of competing with the best in the world. By implementing this new allocation process we hope to ensure we are supporting our best Alpine hopes and that the process is as fair as it can be. We are delighted that we are able to expand our support of our Alpine athletes for the forthcoming season and beyond. We are very grateful to our major supporters, headline sponsor Delancey and UVEX who have played the major role in supporting our programmes.

“The number and quality of applications exceeded our expectations and all athletes should be proud of their achievements; however it is impossible to support all aspirations. BSS continue to work to increase funding and hope to improve support in the future if conditions permit.”

Culled mercilessly from SCUK.
