Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Evasion Mont Blanc 2014 - Les Contamines / Megeve / St Gervais

We're in Chamonix where snow is good esp on Grand Montets. Considering a day in Megeve tomorrow as my wife fancies a day away from the fat skis and speed merchants. Does anyone have any reports on current conditions? Understand it's going to be soft but is there an easy days skiing to be had and if so where should we head for?

@philipb,
Bit late and don't know if you made it to megeve today. At this time of year I'd strongly recommend Les Contamines over Megeve - snow conditions hold up much better and there is plenty of relaxing skiing if you stick to the pistes.

We left yesterday after skiing this morning and the conditions were exceptional. Falling temperatures meant that the last of the snow came as genuine powder. A cold night allowed the piste bashers to do some serious grooming and the pistes are now all you could hope for in February let alone April.

Sadly our skis are now in their summer wax but it's been a good season.

 Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We did it and conditions really not too bad for time of year. Very quiet as well. After a week skiing Grand Montets and the Vallee Blanche at the weekend , Megeve made an interesting change!
Les Contamines isn't included in Chamonix pass unfortunately so wasn't an option.@jedster,
