Poster: A snowHead

Hey Snowheads, just booked an apartment in Warth at Xmas, pretty excited that it's finally lift linked to Lech. One question, I know it's not possible to drive between the two in winter, for no apparent reason, but can you ski the road? For instance if we want to go for a night in Lech how easy is it to ski back along the valley? Used to do this lots at night in Les Arcs/Vallandry... Anyone know?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Would depend on the snow I'd guess. The road's closed over winter due to avalanche risk, it's basically in a fairly steep-sided, narrow gorge along the river Lech.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@sethpistol, the closed section is in a high avalanche risk area, hence the reason it's not kept open and it's a very precarious route with huge drop offs into the valley below, it's also only a relatively short section, probably 1/3 of the total highway from Lech to Warth. Much remains open either side of the closed section and is used by local traffic. In my view you'd be doing more walking than skiing and in a very dangerous area at night, my view is it's not worth it but hey it's a free world!
There's some great places to eat/ drink in Warth, I can see no advantage in going to Lech anyway at night.

MarkyMark & Sitter - thanks for the advice, yeah will probably avoid that then! Don't really fancy night time excursions in terrain traps! Have a great winter guys!

@sethpistol, tbh I'm not sure there's anything in Lech worth going to for a night out anyway...
