I know from your previous posts that you love the Flora
Now I am curious as to which Hotel you have changed to....?
I normally use the Stella (next to the Crystal Bridge), but, following a re-vamp, it is getting pricey.......................................

If you're not travelling on a peak week, there is some serious haggling to be done. The very nice, very well located place that we are now using dropped 30% after a squeeze. However, we are a decent sized group who will rack up a bar tab.
Things are still tight with the Italians and they're not turning up in the numbers that they used to.

I normally use the Stella (on main road next to the Crystal Bridge), but following a 'Refurb' two years ago they have hiked their prices.
Good news on the Italians struggling (well for us Brits anyway - if it means price reductions.. )

Something white and wet fallen at altitude.
Little at (1500m) village. |
From the cameras it looks ok at the top of the passes but as you say little below - Plan de Gralba still green as is most of the Seiseralm area. Bergfex predicting 6cm down to 1600m later this week though- something I guess - and presumably with the colder weather coming they'll turn on the snow makers full pelt.

With apologies for the slight thread-drift, I have a question..
Is it feasible to ski the Marmolada from Selva either as an extension to a Sella Ronda or as a separate trip? Or does it take too long to reach Malga Ciapela via Arabba?
Which is the quickest way to Arabba from Selva - via Corvara or Belvedere?

Yes and Belvedere, but crack on coming back if it's mid afternoon or later. It's very easy to stuck out there due to closing lifts.

Oh well. Hope they can work miracles with artificial snow as the 06z GFS shows nothing really, right up to the end of the charts on 20 Dec. I realise things could change.

Easy. Big day though, but we managed it couple of years ago. I think the quickest way from Selva is via Corvara- only about 3 pistes and you're in Arabba.

Hmmm, snow forecast, which runs off GFS, seems to show a dusting tonight and some extra snow on Monday. Not a lot but much better than zero. And bergfex says more could come next Thu.
I'm invested in this - I'm going there for Christmas with friends who originally wanted to go to Livigno - which does have snow! I'm getting worried...

Have certainly done Marmolada from Arabba, then done a loop. With a big long lunchstop in Campitello. Shorter queues at the cable car when done first thing from Arabba than arriving a bit later.
Surely it's not even opening day for Val Gardena yet? Thought they usually open the weekend before Christmas, and occasional weekends only before that if the snow makes it worthwhile?

andy, Val Gardena usually opens first weekend in December as i recall. Mid December they usually host the World cup downhill.

It'll come good within a week or so.
